Sam Vessel
Welcome to my website!
Hello! I'm Sam Vessel, and I am a fourth-year chemical engineering student at the University of Cincinnati. As a member of the University Honors Program, I have created this portfolio to share about myself and my experiences with the world. Within the university, I am a Darwin T. Turner and Cincinnatus Scholar. Additionally, I am an active member of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). Some of my favorite hobbies are spending time with family and friends, being active outdoors, watching movies and sports, traveling, and helping others.

It has been a long-time personal goal for me to use my love and appreciation for math and science to major in engineering. While I am not exactly sure where I want to end up or what I would like to do, I am committed to giving my best effort as a college student and learning as much as I can along the way. I initially chose mechanical engineering because it is one of the broadest engineering disciplines and provides a wide variety of career opportunities. I transferred into the chemical engineering program halfway through my freshman year because I felt the coursework and career options aligned better with my interests. I intend to use the knowledge and experiences I will gain, from classes and co-ops, to better understand the careers available to me as an engineer. I also plan to continue my higher education and achieve a master's degree in the future. Ultimately, I want to use my God-given gifts and abilities to make positive changes in the world.
